The reflector is actually a background. It has a strap to fit the back of a chair if you need something to hold it.
I do not have it on the boom, but I found a decent weight to put into "sandbags" other than sand. Old computer books. They are heavy.

This is just an equipment set up photo. I have my Canadian Studio heavy duty boom stand with a Jinbei Spark 400 strobe on it. The softbox is a 60cm octagonal no-name from Henry's camera.
